Yet Another Blog

By

I've started another blog.

I started blogging about 6 months ago with one blog and I enjoyed it so much i started another. My first blog is about how I retired and moved to Malaysia to live. I originally started it on a blog platform called Orble. It didn't take long to realize that this platform was not very good and not for me. It was very constricting and customer service was non-existent. I switched over to Blogger where my blog, Retired in Malaysia, talks about my life in Penang. So far it is doing pretty well and I am actually making a little money. Since this blog only dealt with retirement and travel issues, I felt like I wanted some outlet where I could discuss my views on American politics and social issues, from my perspective as an expat living in Malaysia. I then started Senior Neurons, also hosted by Blogger. This blog isn't doing that well though and I have made very little money from it. To be fair though both of these blogs are only about 6 months old.

Recently I thought of the many times I would lay in bed thinking of various topics and ideas and the many times I would observe people being themselves and wanting to make comments. I had no one to make comments to and no where to discuss my thoughts and ideas. I came up with the idea of starting another blog where I just discussed whatever popped into my head. I thought at first that I would host my new blog on WordPress. I actually started it, but less than 24 hours I deleted it. It was way too complicated and did not have the bells and whistles that Blogger had. Also a big factor for me was that I could not use AdSense or any other means of monetizing the site. So I went back to Blogger and started my new blog, Steveso Thinks, which is now four days old. I hope it does well.

I decided that my new blog would be very simply designed with few reciprocal links and no affiliate advertising. I spent hours and hours searching the Internet for ways to promote my previous blogs and trying to make sense of search engine optimization. I discovered that probably over 90% of the sites I found had exactly the same information, word for word. I found sites for free submissions to blog directories and discovered that the majority of them charged a fee. I then started looking for directories that were indeed free or required a reciprocal agreement. I can remember filling out form after form to get registered and get my reciprocal link. The problem with using these links is that soon your blog consists of more links than content. In the past 6 months I have realized that I got absolutely no traffic from these blog directories, which required reciprocal links.

I hope I can keep my new blog simple and free of outside links, as much as possible and still draw a sizeable audience.I will still write Hubs on Hubpages about my experiences bloggings and for those special thoughts that don't fit into my blogs.

It looks nice. But I want to know how you get your posts to look like separate pages on the new blog. Mine are just continuous with a date at top, but that complete break just is not happening.

LindaSmith1 5 months ago

How do you do the complete break between posts? I have tired everything.

Thank you Nicregi. I appreciate your comments. I hope I get better the longer I do this.

Thanks Linda Smith 1. Go to your blog and click on design. Then click on settings, and then formatting. Next to "Show at most" I have put 7 posts on the main page. I hope this is what you want.

I tried that and it does not do it.

That's strange. That is the setting I use for all 3 blogs.

Hi Mussy. I imagine if you sign up for an account to be used with Hubpages or Blogger, it would be quite easy.
